Astral Radiance

Here Comes Astral Radiance!

The newest expansion to the Pokemon TCG, Astral Radiance, is dropping in just a few days! On May 27th collectors will finally be able to get their hands on the nearly 250 new cards that can be found in the set! But what is even in this set? What are people chasing?! Read on to find out

What’s in the Set?

Astral Radiance is coming in hot with 246 new cards to collect! These cards come from 4 different OCG (Original Japanese) sets including Vmax Climax, Battle Region, Space Juggler, and Time Gazer. In Astral Radiance you can find…

  • 189 Regular Cards
  • 30 Trainer Gallery Cards (my personal favorite)
  • 27 Secret Rare Cards

What are we Chasing?

That’s… actually a great question. It’s always hard to tell exactly what THE chase card will be before people actually start chasing them! Included in this set are the Hisuian starter pokemon’s evolved forms Decidueye, Samurott, and Typhlosion in V and V-Star forms. Even though this version of Typhlosion is psychic, people still love their fire starters, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this one ends up high on the list.

The set also includes Origin Forme (yup… with an e) Palkia and Dialga, also in V and V-Star fashion. And, I gotta say, these cards are gorgeous.

Anything Else?

Besides a bunch more Hisuian form pokemon found in “Pokemon Legends: Arceus,”  this set also includes a batch of “radiant” pokemon. Which is a fancy way to say shiny pokemon that you can only include one of in a deck (for you competitive TCG players out there) but the art on these things is INCREDIBLE! We got a Japanese radiant Steelix in the office the other day and I just had to make a video about it because… it’s just… so shiny!

By expanding not only on the new hit game “Pokemon Legends: Arceus” with the Hisuian pokemon, but also expanding the popular trainer gallery, V-Star, AND having a new “Radiant” card subset, Astral radiance is looking to be a very impressive new set! I hope you’re all excited to see everything this set has in store, because I know I am!
